Stephanie M.
Alumni Artist

STEPHANIE M. loves creating art; generally she’ll do this with markers on paper, although she also enjoys collage work and working with acrylics on canvas.  Never one to be limited, Steph also enjoys her classes in sculpture and jewelry making; she says that she likes to try new things.

Stephanie reminisces that she has been creating art for “a long time”.  She uses her friends and herself as subject matter in a lot of her work.  She also utilizes internet technology to reference certain objects that she wants to paint.  She’ll often depict people and foods in her representational drawings, while her paintings are more about mixing colors for herself.

She claims that she likes to work on a large scale and that she spends about “an hour” on each piece.

She wants people who see her work to feel happy.

Stephanie comes from a very close family, who mean the world to her. Other areas of interest for Stephanie are using her laptop, watching television, football, and cooking with her mom.

I like to draw pictures of people who are close to me. Mostly I draw self-portraits.
