Kari S.

KARI S. enjoys her art time at the WAE Center, where she has been creating artwork since she started with the program. Her medium of choice is acrylic paint, which she lovingly applies to her canvases, but Kari also enjoys photography, perler beads, digital art, weaving and has recently been exploring paper collage. Never one to go with the paint color right out of the jar, Kari prides herself on creating unique colors for each painting she works on.  She calls on these colors to inspire her in her art creations. She thinks of her artwork as “fun”, and claims that she “… likes to paint the paint; I like to relax, it’s fun.”

When asked how long she spends on her artwork, Kari simply states, “… until it is time to go home.” Kari’s artwork tends to be smaller in size compared to other work coming out of the studio. She hopes people feel “nice” when they see her work.

When she is not working on her paintings, Kari enjoys relaxing, watching movies, riding her exercise bike, and she says she “… likes her bed”

I like to paint because it helps me to relax. It’s fun.
