Kristen I.

“I would like to show the world what inspires me by painting and drawing my daily inspirations. People and events around me inspire my artwork. Most of the characters that I create are abstracts. I love working with acrylic paint, Sharpie markers, brush markers, paint markers, pastels & watercolors. I like to learn new things every day.

I have been drawing and painting since I was 3 years old. I started drawing portraits and characters from the video games that I played during my life. I also enjoy drawing cats because I love cats. I had a pet cat named Max from 1990-2004 that inspired me to draw cats.

I love using markers because the pigmentations are beautiful and pop easily once drawn. I sometimes use art to raise awareness on many social issues that the world deals with especially today. I enjoy doing portraits the most because they are my specialty.”

Kristen was 1 of 3 selected to participate in our “Advancing the Artist” workshop series where artists learn to create the tools to promote themselves such as websites, resumes, portfolios, social media and more.

Kristen also participates in our WAE to Sell class, a program that invites WAE center artists to learn how to sell their products online on the Redbubble platform.
