May 24, 2019 We have been invited by SMI to contribute to their upcoming Inspired By… Quilt Collection of Montclair History Center exhibit. Artists are asked to submit works of art that are inspired by the antique quilt collection at the Montclair History Center. We are creating a large-scale installation, featuring the work of multiple artists, creating 35 12”x12” panels which will be displayed in a “quilt-like” manner. In order to prepare for this work, we visited the Montclair History Center to view and touch the historic quilts on display. It was very stirring and we are so excited to get our work together for the show. An added bonus was that while we were there, we discovered that one of our members had an exceptional piano playing skill that we did not know about; he played numerous classical pieces without any sheet music. It was magical.
